Then, a large amount of norepinephrine is converted to epinephrine (adrenalin, the stress hormone) that turns on the dopamine (D2 receptor)-norepinephrine-adrenalin axis triggers the sympathetic "Fight or Flight" command, where "Fight" means ejaculation and orgasm if the acetylcholine action is sufficient, and "Flight", the erection or engorgement withdraw if the acetylcholine action is insufficient.

Serotonin can block or reduce the conversion of norepinephrine to adrenalin, the stress hormone which is the main enemy of erection or engorgement in the foreplay and erectile states for middle agers and seniors.
